Silk is a native of Canada. academic. She was raised in Fredericton. Ilkay Silk is the child of Peter Silk, an academic and Anna Silk, who's an actor, director, producer, playwright. One of Anna's first memories were of going to play rehearsals and watching her mother do her job. Silk was featured in a variety of commercials while she was just a child. Her Bachelor of Arts was awarded by St. Thomas University, 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced two of its first productions, Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto for her acting to improve in November of 1999. After a decade saw her move to Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman was her future spouse when she first was introduced to him at an Actors' Workshop located in Los Angeles. They got married at an official ceremony on December 10th, 2009 after they became engaged. In Fredericton on 10 April 2011, after her change to Judaism the couple renewed their vows at a Jewish marriage ceremony.
