Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford is an American musician, singer and guitarist born in Britain. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of females in the late 1970s. Their punkish music and rebellious lyrics got them noticed by the rock community. The group did not have an enormous following within the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her record Out for Blood. Ford was unable to achieve much with either album and disappeared from the world of rock for about a decade. The singer returned with her hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. The track "Kiss me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were huge hits. The popularity of her was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. Her re-emergence was with the release of "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years following. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
